Yo Marc, when the time comes, and you'll know when, look for a silver gt for me w/stick, interior and body doesn't matter, but with reasonable miles on it, because I'll be ready then

Too bad you aren't ready now because I found two Mustangs that are perfect, and both are less than 100 miles from us:

This black 2007 GT 'Vert

And this Redfire 2006 GT 'Vert

Both cars have less than 8000 miles on them, and the price is absolutely right on both of them. Personally, I love the Redfire with Tan leather and roof. We had an autotragic in that color combo and its drool icious.

Either car is a "fuckit, let's buy it NOW" car. Don't stop at any red lights, just pick one of them up.

That's a nice car but the price is a little high. It's a year newer and has navi, but 20K more miles than the 2 'Verts? Should be at least 2K lower.

I'd much rather have this supercharged Mustang 'Vert

Ok Speed, 'burg is helping you out and it is time to get that Mustang and don't worry if it is an automatic or not. A manual transmission is not a make or break deal and a Mustang with an auto is just as much fun as a Mustang with a manual. rockon

Which is why I demand that Ford puts the TR-6060 in the V6 and GT. The shifting won't be as smooth but it will stand up to the task of much more than any stock Mustang will ever throw at it.

Hey Burg, has anyone ever come in with a faulty Mustang tranny yet? And can you demand a TR-6060 for the repair?

I'm waiting til Tuesday to get all my paperwork and licesnses and whatnot, then gonna wait til I know the jobs sold before I make my move

Nerb, ya know I'm a turbo guy, I'll buy myself a turbo kit for it instead, and see if its possible to improve the chassis to handle all the power it'll get, that or do an all motor build

We've had two come in; not sure about demanding the Tremec. Ford - like every manufacturer - will do a warranty replacement with whatever is the current OEM only.

I wonder, though... if the Chinese Getrag costs, say, $3000 and the TR is $5000 - if Ford would kick in the 3G's and let the customer pay the difference. Only thing is, I'm sure Ford wouldn't pay for the reinstallation labor, and not sure how they would warranty components like the driveshaft that would now be connected to a non-OEM component.

I know that as a dealer, we'd have to insist that the customer indemnify us
from any warranty issues that arise from our performing such an installation. We'd warranty our labor, but we would be held harmless form any quality issues with the TR itself and how it interacts with the rest of the Mustang's drivetrain.

Well.. first off, I think wanting to turbocharge the Mustang is flat wrong. When you consider that ALL the premier Mustang tuners - Roush, Saleen, Steeda, Shelby, Kenne Bell, Ford Racing Performance - use superchargers instead of turbos, why mess with success? Nobody says you can't build your own but why not use time-proven components that integrate perfectly?

At our car show last weekend, we had 93 cars. Over 70 Mustangs. EVERY SINGLE ONE that had forced induction was supercharged. We had one Kenne Bell GT500 that was pushing 877 hp at the crank, and 768 at the rear wheels.

You should go to Englishtown one weekend and talk to a few Mustang owners. Ask what they've done and who did the work. If you use Ford Racing Performance parts, we can do the labor and if the work is being performed on a car that is still under warranty, the mods won't void it. Even if you add an FRP Whipple Supercharger.

The two best Mustang tuners in the area are:

JDM Engineering in Freehold

Big Daddy Performance in Lakewood

RE: If anybody wants a NICE Mustang 'Vert...
thanks for the links 1st of all, definitely taking note of them man

As for the supercharger thing, I figured it'd all be blowers, so why not be the black sheep of the bunch?

Just any weekend huh, I'll definitely go, and while it won't void anything, only reason I wouldn't consider ford parts 1st is because I wanna get the most power I can get from my parts, unless FRP's is right up there

Btw, could I remove the 2ndry cats and still pass emissions or naw?

If I was going to build up a Mustang that was still under warranty, FRP is the only way to go

You're going to get the same power from any other part compared to its FRP counterpart.
