Sad Lambo SUV dead, Estoque still under consideration
[Image: lamborghini-estoque--1_800x0w.jpg]

With rumors suggesting a LM002 revival was imminent, Lamborghini boss Stephan Winkelmann has cleared the air about the company's future product plans.

In an interview with AutoCar, Winkelmann stated "We really have a choice when it comes to an additional model: an SUV or a four-seat four-door. And for me the SUV is a no-go. It doesn't exist in our price segment, and it's not a real luxury car."

He continued, "We have opportunities outside the supercar business, and we showed that with Estoque. It had a more enthusiastic response than we had expected." Hinting at the possibility of production, Winkelmann commented a four-door model could expand Lamborghini's customer base as it would target people who want something more practical than a two-door supercar.

While this isn't a confirmation, by any stretch of the imagination, it's safe to assume Lamborghini is closely watching the Aston Martin Rapide. If the model continues to be successful, the company could determine there is enough demand to warrant an Estoque launch.

Thanks God! I'd much rather see a four seat coupe/sedan thing than and suv from them.

“Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted; the indifference of those who should have known better; the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most; that has made it possible for evil to triumph.”

I hope they don't build either. We just need some more scary looking cars that make me wet my bed at night unsure:

Bad move. Just look at the Cayenne, it's making Porsche a ton of money.

Great move. I like how they are sticking to their roots. I hope they build neither since Vdub already has a high lux sedan in the Bentley Continental.

The best there was and the best there ever will be.
