RE: General Lee VS The Bandit
Sorry 96SS but the Trans Am is nothing more than a poser. I have driven several '69 Chargers and several '78 Trans Am's and the best thing I can say in defense of the Trans Am is, not much in the way of performance came from any manufacturer in the late seventies. The Charger doesn't even need a 440 to rip the Trans Am a new a-hole. A 383 will kick the shit out of it and 318 will give it one hell of a run. By the way, the Dodge Little Red Express Truck from the late seventies kicked the Trans Am's ass, The Volare Road Runner and Aspen RT were just as fast, and the Mustang ll Cobra was almost as fast.

“The build sheet is the wish list of any racer: lightweight high-revving dry-sump LS7 engine; carbon-ceramic brakes; integrated coolers; true aerodynamic downforce, and a significant reduction in curb weight. This car could only come from Chevrolet, and could only be called the Z/28.”
