Does over inflating your tires really do anything other than wear down the center tread faster?

yep, it wears the tires down slightly faster, but it also lowers the surface area and thus the rolling resistance all of which equals better gas mileage.


I ran them the last couple of weeks at 32psi... and I never got better than 31mpg

My Jeep really doesn't vary much in fuel economy. In the winter it gets around 13 and the summer around 15. I've tried it with my BFG All-Terrains and my winter tires...which are still A/Ts but not as beefy. No noticeable difference. Same with highway vs. city...it doesn't matter, either way it just sucks.

I was going 83 in my grandpa's Expedition in the snow in 4WD and managed about 16 MPG going from Hastings to Omaha.

I took Highway 6 this highway goes through Hastings all the way to Lincoln, and can be followed to Omaha and beyond
