Fact is, the Charger is just...all around better. When you get the V6, the Charger is within fingers length in a straight line while getting better mileage....from an old ass 5-SPEED!! And in R/T vs SHO form, the Charger, again, within fingers length, but costing less and you get that glorious V8!! I love it. Best of all, both sharing similar ride qualities, the Taurus get its jaw handed right back to it by the performance of the Charger. What an amazing car....and what a dud

I don't dislike the Taurus in either base or SHO trim, but it didn't push my enthusiast buttons the way I wanted it to. The 3.5L EB is a keeper, the engine pulls like hell and has loads of torque. The chassis feels very stable and solid, but it doesn't respond as quickly as I was hoping it would. It would make a very good car for somebody that wants a fast and comfortable cruiser.

However, Chrysler really stepped up their game with the Charger. Inside and out, it's a fantastic car. I can't say that I'm not worried about RWD in winter, but we'll deal with it.

I decided to go in a different direction. I got a good deal on an extremely low mileage '96 Impala SS that I intend to mod to my specifications.

The Taurus in any trim doesn't handle well at all. Then again, its more of a cruiser than a sports sedan.

Although I'm not getting all the comparisons of the Taurus and it here... that would be like comparing the Avalon with the Charger. They just don't compete.
