Somethings Buzzing Around Detroit.....
Caught Testing: 2013 Dodge Hornet hatchback -Spy Shots Fiat-based Dodge midsize hatch coming next year.

[Image: caught-testing-2013-dodge-hornet-hatchback.jpg]

"Chrysler is in desperate need of some competitive small cars and Fiat looks ready to help the American automaker fill that gaping hole in its lineup. Based on Fiat’s new C-Evo chassis, this new Dodge midsize sedan/hatchback will be similar in size and shape to the current Alfa Romeo Giulietta—a 5-door hatch that competes with the VW Golf and Ford Focus. Our spy photographers captured this test mule from nearly every angle. At the front is a pair of high-tech-looking headlamps, visible beneath the front mesh. This car also appears to have a chunkier grille opening than the Alfa—though Dodge officials have previously said the days of the brand’s crosshair grille are numbered. Cast your eyes back and you’ll notice some strange lines running along the center of the car, as well as the rear doors."

drool

Looks A LOT like the Alfa....hopefully this will get here soon, as the Caliber should've been gone a decade ago (literally).

I'd still rather have the Giulietta being sold here as an Alfa instead of a Dodge.

RE: Somethings Buzzing Around Detroit.....
are they gonna put in three large horizontal slats on the rear doors???
Could be cool even if only pressed into the metal like the borrom of the wheel well of the Camaro.
To look like Hornet wings maybe???

I'm loving that it's a 5-door. That's the only way I'd buy a compact or subcompact. I'm not alone, apparently the 5-door Fiesta is outselling the sedan here in the States.

I think the front end is going to be one giant Dodge grill, kinda like how the Chevy Sonic has a giant Chevy grill.

I could be wrong, but the way the tarp is shaped over the front end gives off that impression to me.

It's a modified Alfa Giulietta, nothing more than a test mule.

Dodge deffinetly needs this. A compact car in their lineup replacing the Caliber is a must. I am looking forward to this, and from what I've read from other threads, the 8speed automatic by ZF is also capable for FWD cars right Mopar guys?

ZF has a 9-Speed coming for FWD cars that Chrysler will be using. Don't forget though Fiat has some nice DCT's as well.

That's probably just because the sedan looks like an obese sunfish.
