What makes a Stroker engine a Stroker???
Title is self explanatory lol
But seriously what makes a stroker engine a stroker???
I think it has something to do with the Crankshaft???
Like I know a 350 can easily be made into a 383,but how???

A stroker kit basically causes the piston to have a longer stroke in the cylinder. This lowers the max RPM but increases torque dramatically.

I guess the easiest way to explain it is this...

A stroker motor has a longer distance for the piston head to travel with in the engine block thus giving you more power. You usually go about this by modifying the bottom end. A shorter piston connecting rod will increase the travel which in turn increases the displacement.

Thats the easy way to explain it I guess.

Ah thanks.
I appreciate it.
I always assumed it had more to do with the crankshaft.
Why? I don't know.

Thats really the only way to explain it lol

“The build sheet is the wish list of any racer: lightweight high-revving dry-sump LS7 engine; carbon-ceramic brakes; integrated coolers; true aerodynamic downforce, and a significant reduction in curb weight. This car could only come from Chevrolet, and could only be called the Z/28.”

Some kits do offer a modified crankshaft.

I'm going to be a bit of a picky jerk right now (it's just how I roll :idksmile. The shorter connecting rod will still have it's up and down travel determined by the distance between the crank's connecting rod bearings and center. What the shorter rod WILL do is lower compression.

I'll be the first to admit that there are some things the F-Series does better than the Silverado. And by that I mean "donate it's back axle to the company's sporty car."
