Those Preludes are sweet cars though. One of the few Hondas I would love to own.I have no idea on this. Is the actual clutch going bad or is it something else in the system? __________________________________________________

Well put Mopar!
![]() No, but really, this car is 19 years old and that entire clutch system has been beat on no doubt. Who has been doing the work on it? My money says that by installing it wrong the first time that more damage happened than meets the eye and the whole thing is probably ruined. I don't know a lot about clutches, aside from how to drive the shit out of one, but I'd wager that he ruined something major by letting some stupid frak work on it.:yeeees: "I know, the rest of the world thinks American's are arrogant, and to be fair, frak you!" RE: Guys, help me out here,my friend needs help with his Prelude
I think its a bad clutch line. I had an issue similar, minus the whole clutch going bad part. If it goes right down to the floor, its a line issue. My car had a bubble in the line from pressure and heat, and it can burst. Its like an anuerysm. The line has a bubble on it and it causes the pedal to have no pressure, so I'd get a steel clutch line and that should fix it. I replaced my slave cylinder and master cylinder.

RE: Guys, help me out here,my friend needs help with his Prelude
Fluid doesn't need to leak. Its a bubble that fills up. When they put it back in, I am not quite sure they put it in correctly, and there might be air in the line hence the lack of pressure. I'd get underneath the car, put lights everywhere and look at your tranny. If he doesn't know, Honda's have them on the bottom left side of the car. I'd check your lines and see if there is a bubble and I'd get someone to push the clutch in while the car is on (it can be off but I'd rather do it with it on if I were him) and watch what happens.

I don't remember the old Preludes well. Is the cylinder inside the tranny or separate? Mine is inside the tranny bell housing.

RE: Guys, help me out here,my friend needs help with his Prelude
Hey Revit. i finally made an account on here. i am the owner of the prelude. its a 1992 Si w/ 4WS. and i just know that the cylinder is on the front of the tranny. when they said this happened last time they said "the clutch rod was completely gone" i got the car back at around 3pm yesterday and i havnt even had it 24hrs and its out again? i don't think that is possible. i guess ill try n bleed it. and check for bubbles

RE: Guys, help me out here,my friend needs help with his Prelude
Give it a shot, and if not then you need to take it to someone that knows what they are doing. If the tranny is shot then you can find a replacement.
