GIMP Tutorial : How to Change Rims on a Car

GIMP Tutorial : How to Change Rims on a Car
For this tutorial, we are going to start with the Holden Cruze

For this rims, we are going to use the rims on a Ford Focus RS. Go ahead and click File, then Open, and find the picture you want

Click on the Ellipse selection tool, and click, then drag the circle until you surround the object you are going to use.

On each corner of the box is a square you use to resize the ellipse. Click and drag until you have the correct size elipse

After you have the correct size ellipse, Right Click, the click Edit, then Copy. This will add the picture to your clipboard

Go back to the Cruze. You will now Right click, then click Edit, then Paste. This will drop the object onto the picture

Over on the layers toolbox is a little button with a sheet of paper on it. Click this. It will make your object a layer.

Now, click the Move tool. (Looks like 4 arrows) and drag the object to the desired position.

Next, you will click the Re-Size tool. Then, click and drag the object to the desired size. You may have to move the object again if necessary.

Go ahead and repeat the process for the rear wheel.

Great! You have just given your vehicle a new set of kicks.

Ay mate whenever I try to use the ellipse tool to select a rim, all it does is move the picture around. What am I doing wrong?

You can either create a new layer for the selected object, or hit enter.
