Pete, you have any inside news on the Mazdaspeed2??? I drove a regular 2 at Colonial Mazda and I actually liked the little thing. My dad was crazy over those but the car wasn't big enough for him, he didn't feel quite as safe (he and my mother got t-boned by a 17yr old drunk girl) and he was a bit apprehensive about it. He swears by Mazdas ever since he bought a 1996 Protege brand new. He would love a 3 but doesn't care for the smile. The Speed2 is more of my interest.

Rev - Mazda never gives us any hints about new stuff. I learn more online and in mags than at work. Mazda2 sales are slow. The way they are priced, we have like no room for negotiation. They are finally giving us some incentive money.

In my opinion, everyone should have a Mazda2 as a toy. Amazingly fun in the snow. Very "flickable".

A Mazdaspeed2 would be a blast. Keep your fingers crossed.

I'm going to make a prediction, and guess the CX5 test mule that was shown on Autoblog is actually an AWD platform for the 3 series (speed3?). Thats what the Speed3 needs to be a Subie competitor.

Yea, a lot of the guys at the Mazda forums are saying the same thing. One guy made his Speed3 AWD.
