Ten Cars Overshadowed By Their Successor
LINK

Quote:It's an automaker's job to improve on previous models, but sometimes they get it so right that the previous generation is completely overshadowed. With your help, we put together a list of the ten cars overshadowed by their successor.

Quote:10.) BMW E34 M5
9.) First Gen Toyota Prius
8.) Cadillac CTS
7.) 1966/1967 Dodge Charger
6.) Nissan R34 Skyline GT-R
5.) 2010 Ford Mustang
4.) Corvette C5 Z06
3.) Bugatti EB110
2.) Mark III Toyota Supra
1.) Ferrari 288 GTO

Solid list.

I think the current Malibu could be included in that list. The current model eclipsed the last gen by a long stretch.

True, the last gen was only famous in rental car lots.

I would agree to adding the Malibu. Hell, most GM models pushed out in the last year or so could fall onto that list, in my opinion.

Good list as is, though.

Same with the Taurus, although the new one hasn't become wicked popular, it makes you forget about the las gen.

Great list!
All of these cars were fine vehicles, but were forgotten when their successor came out.

The new Prius, I must say, has really come in and shown out. I never paid the first one any attention but this new one is all over the place down here at school. College students must like it a lot. I'm not sure I'd get one though.......the CR-Z looks way better. But this is a solid list to say the least.

Yeah, the M5 & R34 are definitly overshadowed, shame, both are good, though I argue the E39 is considered the best tounge

I don't know about the '66/67 Charger. They were awesome cars. One of my close friends parents own a '66 Charger Back when we were kids. That car smoked every 389 GTO on the road. His parents still own the car and his dad is restoring it.
