Speaking at an event held prior to Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Cadillac marketing VP Don Butler revealed that the brand will introduce the next-generation versions of the CTS midsize sedan and Escalade SUV in addition to the new ELR plug-in next year.

The first to be revealed will be the ELR, which Butler said will make its official debut in a year at Pebble Beach and use a drive train that follows an evolution of the Chevrolet Volt’s architecture.

A car that looks this good, needs a V model somewhere in its model range.

This country can’t be knocked out with one punch. We get right back up again and when we do the world is going to hear the roar of our engines. Yeah, it’s halftime America. And, our second half is about to begin.

Since electrics can be blindingly quick, the V treatment makes sense for sure. I hope they can make the production version look as slick as the concept.

The ELR could be neat depending on how Cadillac does it.

I'm really excited to see what Cadillac does to the Escalade! It's basically Cadillac's flagship for a while.

Lincoln: Luxury, elegance, simplicity.

I could see them using that TTV6 they talked about a while bac and then some kind of electric motor assist to give it instant torque off the line.

If they're going to do it I think electric should still be the primary drive (preferably at the rear wheels). Instant torque and incredible smoothness are the inherent qualities of traction motors and that suits the Cadillac premise perfectly.

Just give it a really strong electric motor and whatever it needs for a decent extended range and I think you'll have a killer Caddy.2thumbsup

It would definetly be one of the best looking electrics on the market and proabably cheaper than some of the others like Fisker or Tesla. Ill be looking forward to this cars debut.

However i could live with a new age GM small block V8 under the hood too laugh

The face is attractive, but everything from the A-pillar back is hideous.
