Alfa 159 Lusso

Alfa Romeo’s new Giulia saloon is just months away from being frozen into its final form and committed to production for a 2014 launch. The new BMW 3-series rival is evidence that Fiat Group boss Sergio Marchionne remains determined to revive the ailing brand.

The Giulia will be the first all-new mainstream model launched under Alfa’s revival plan. The saloon, plus the mid-engined 4C sports car (due on sale in early 2014) and the reborn Spider (2015), are intended to put Alfa Romeo firmly back in contention as a viable global premium brand.

So is the platform going to underpin a Dodge RWD midsizer or a Chrysler RWD midsizer?? Or is it changeable to FWD to RWD.

I say it should underpin a midsize RWD Chrysler, but who knows what they're going to do.

If this is anywhere near the neighborhood of a 3 Series in terms of driving ability, then it gets my vote.

The 3 Series in general has never been my favorite BMW, to begin with. This Alfa is just exponentially better looking from the outside. And, since BMW's are not exactly appealing to the eye in the interior (and never have been) I would assume the nod there would be in Alfa's favor too.

I hope it looks more like the 159 than their current offerings, those buggy headlights aren't the best.

It's nearly 3 years since this car was supposed to debut but alas, it needs to come now.
I'd love to see it on some RWD platform but there is talk that this might actually be on a stretched Dart platform and be an FWD/AWD car, but anything at this point is good, sales of Alfas are at rock bottom right now.

I sure love Alfa styling. Alfa DNA is working for Chrysler. Now if it can revive Alfa Romeo.

The SRT Cuda is coming, there is said to be an Alfa sedan and another sedan based on the same Cuda platform... whether it will be a Chrysler or Dodge remains to be seen
