Cant believe how much of a Hyundai rip off this looks to be
The 2010 sonata v6 even had wheels that look like these
The tail lights of the sedan appear to be much like the genesis sedan
The coupe tail lights look right off a porsche 911

To me they both look good enough, not up to the new competition but surely better than the last refresh honda did (civic)

Aesthetics are a bit underwhelming but as proven by the newest iteration of the Civic (class leading sales), appearance doesn't make a huge impact on sales. I think it'll do everything a Honda has always done well and keep customers coming back.
You are all nitpicking its appearance and dismissing the entire car. Get over the styling and look deeper.

Good lord I just fell asleep.

That shits better than ambien

“The build sheet is the wish list of any racer: lightweight high-revving dry-sump LS7 engine; carbon-ceramic brakes; integrated coolers; true aerodynamic downforce, and a significant reduction in curb weight. This car could only come from Chevrolet, and could only be called the Z/28.”

Truly stupid people buy the name, not the content.

rofl

Looks are a big part of the buying decision. I'm not going to buy a car that makes me cringe every time I walk up to it. Of course, other things do matter like value, content, performance, efficiency etc...

It's the whole package that matters. Unfortunately most people buy based on badge, not merit.

But to say buying a car without looks as an important factor is bullshit. Anyone who disagrees is lying to themselves. The design is the first impression of a car. And we all know how important a good first impression is.

I had better buy Ford stock now because the Fusion is going to become the midsized car sales leader now without a doubt!

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

They'll sell well on the west and the east coast as usual just because they are Hondas and the import saturation in those markets is thick. Their dealer networks will push these bland mobiles just as well as they're doing the current bland mobile.

What will be interesting though is seeing what incentive costs for Honda will look like down the road.

YTD honda has been pushing huge dealer spiffs to move the metal. They like to give the dollars to the dealer that way it looks like they are giving away tons of money on "retail" spiffs.

I find that the imports have amazing lease deals that I don't normally see on domestics.

Styling is an important factor to me though. It is an area that is more artistic and gives the most room for a car to set itself apart from the others. I suppose to some people that would make me shallow, but we're talk about cara here not women. I'm not dismissing the rest of the car but unfortunately for Honda they have once again dropped the ball in this area.

Heard nothing but complaints about the new civic from honda dealers, its nice to work at a hyundai dealership that is seening many new elantra and sonata customers who were long timers at honda but are upset with current cars

And they push huge incentives and profit a few hundred dollars less a car

Coupe looks decent but the sedan looks terrible. I'll reserve final judgement until I see these cars in the flesh but my expectations are low. Honda is just dropping and dropping in quality. Drove a '09 Civic to a '11 and the '11 was shit. Don't even get me started on my Pilot compared to the current SUVwannabe walrus that's on sale, I heard it's just crap.

RE: Honda reveals firs images of all-new 2013 Honda Accord
I love the argument that the new Accord won't sell well because of the new Fusion and Mazda 6 are deemed the next big thing in that segment. This was said when the new Optima and Sonata came out and the Accord is still outselling those two, along with the current 6 and Fusion. Everyone thought the current 6 was so sharp, but yet sales leave nothing to be desired besides being on rental lots, not actual parking lots. If the new Passat is any indication, looks are very subjective as we should know since that car along with the Jetta are all seen as "bland" nut yet their sales are through the roof. Look at the overall picture. Do we really think Honda is dumb? They've been making the Accord so long Mazda used to sell a 323 and 626 while the midsizer from Ford was the once best selling Taurus, not the Fusion. The segment is about the overall car, not just the subjective. No objective specs have been given about the new Accord to say yay or nay, just the outside pics. If anyone thinks Honda is clueless, they need to rethink that. The heavily Aston Martin inspired Fusion and sharp 6 have to swing real hard to knock Honda out. And while they are at it, they gotta wake up really early to even get to Camry levels because that nameplate seems to sales better the more people talk about it, in spite of.

And Mazda needs to cut off some of the zoom zoom and worry about what sales -sales before they are dead-dead. Catering to a small minority will only get you but so far. Unless second tier is what they see striving for.
