The EPA has released fuel economy figures for the 2013 Buick Verano Turbo. The 2.0 L, 4 cyl, manual 6-spd is rated at 20 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.

About the 2013 Buick Verano Turbo
More than 90 percent of the Verano Turbo’s peak torque – more than 234 lb.-ft. – is available between 1700 to 5500 rpm. Its closest competitor, the 2013 Acura ILX 2.4L, offers a peak of 170 lb.-ft. of torque.

“The 2.0L turbo engine was designed for refinement, higher output capabilities and reduced noise,” said Amy Joss, Ecotec 2.0L assistant chief engineer. “The way it sounds, the power delivery and the refined character are all fitting of a luxury sedan with a fun side.”

In December, Buick’s 2.0L turbocharged Ecotec engine was named one of WardsAuto World’s 2012 10Best Engines for North America. At the time, the publication’s editor-in-chief, Drew Winter, said: “This engine delivers a level of power and sophistication that redefines Buick.” Read more.

I believe they're both about the same in weight... but I have a question:

I know the Regal (and GS model) has the older version of the 2.0DI Turbo that was used in the Cobalt/HHR SS, Sky Redline and Solstice GXP

So does this (and the Malibu Turbo) have the new 2.0 DI Turbo that's used in the ATS? Thinking I had read where they switched the exhaust and intake around or something to that nature and suppose to be more efficient. With this - I'm not impressed with these numbers thumbsdown

That's not that great, but about usual for a turbo 4 in the 260hp range.

Quiet, surprisingly quick, and did I mention it's quiet? It's going to take the fight to Acura. As long as the mileage numbers match up well with it's competition (and it appears they do) it'll be just fine.

I'll be the first to admit that there are some things the F-Series does better than the Silverado. And by that I mean "donate it's back axle to the company's sporty car."

That's gonna be one quick little buick

“The build sheet is the wish list of any racer: lightweight high-revving dry-sump LS7 engine; carbon-ceramic brakes; integrated coolers; true aerodynamic downforce, and a significant reduction in curb weight. This car could only come from Chevrolet, and could only be called the Z/28.”
