"Old" Top Gear or Top Gear?
I've recently been watching a lot of old Top Gear clips on YouTube and I think I like it better than the current version.
Here's why.
  • They test ordinary cars instead of $500,000 hypercars we may never see outside of an auto show.
  • The challenges in the current version are getting a little stale
  • I like Clarkson as a journalist, not as an actor.
  • The current version is getting a little stale (though I can see it continuing for 5 years).

The reason I love the current version is BECAUSE of their tests of cars ill never get to drive.... thats the point, I could drive any of the normal cars, any given day.... I want to see the exotics.

Clarkson is hilarious.

It would be nice to see more mainstream cars. And the show is getting WAY TOO scripted. But I do enjoy some of the down to earth challenges also. Caravan was good. Flying balloon caravan was too much. So it would be nice to see a little of the old and new together.

as long as they continue to mix a few standard car things along with the insane stuff, it'll still be great

I think the older ones were more amusing, the new ones are just too scripted, there aren't enough challenges and when they are they're just recycling old ones. I like when they test affordable cars and supercars, as long as it's amusing
