OH... Hey Capt. Obvious... even without huge Rental/Fleet sales GM still managed to remain #1, and almost 30K units in front of its closest competitor.. Meaning GM sales were very LEAN.

GM's biggest issue remains PRODUCT.. and variation of existing product. The Cruze may have not much fleet sales, but it could certainly benefit from some of the sales opportunities that the Focus and Elantra get having variations like Hatches and Coupes. The messed up part is that GM actually HAS variations of the Cruze.. just won't sell them here

Repitition seems to be big with you, huh? Chrysler can sell those old Avengers and 200s to fleet all they want, but the proof is right there, the two heavy fleet dependent powerhouses saw a turn turn, while damn near everyone else, including Chrysler, had yet another positive month.

Funny, also, us hearing the same things over and over. GM has product issues, blah blah blah. Save it for someone who has damns to give about excuses.

I'm looking at what is. Impala is down.. Malibu is down to a 28day supply. Product issues are what they are. There is a reason why GM profits were 4X what Chrysler's were even with GM Euro-Labor-Economy issues.. and it ain't just volume.

Yeah.. incentive spending UP on a vehicle that sells with incentives still for $50K+... has been on the market for 7 years.. R&D costs paid for 6 years ago with the donor platforms stretched profits.. and high interest lending profits to boot.. YEAH.. I could see where that would be bad for Cadillac.

What an epic FAIL. BMW is down a measely 0.5% compared to July last year and beat Mercedes-Benz and Lexus for the #1 position in the U.S. last month. Sales are still up 9.5% YTD and BMW hasn't even started rolling out F30s with xDrive or a new 3-series coupe/convertible (aka 4-series). They are well on track to meet this year's sales and profitability targets and remain the #1 premium automaker in the world, something GM only wishes it could do in the mainstream market!

Check out GM's 41% drop in this year's Q2 earnings. No wonder investors aren't knocking on GM's door. Stock price is nearly $19.

On the flip side, BMW's Q2 earnings were second-best in company history.

Wasn't BMW profit down like 27% as well... without half of the obligations GM has???

Cadillac sales JUMPED 20% last month.. just on the one car that everyone said wouldn't sell... The XTS. What's it gonna look like when the ATS jumps on board.. followed by the ELR.. new CTS, Escalade, and "LSX"???

Again.. the only reason why BMW sells more cars is because IT HAS MORE CARS. Sorry bud... (and I can't believe I have to defend and American marque to a German one with someone who is American... ) but Cadillac seems well poised to take the Number 1 spot in the US.. and do very well abroad. I don;t think it stands a real chance in Germany.. because unlike Americans.. like U... Germans are actually LOYAL to their own.
