“The build sheet is the wish list of any racer: lightweight high-revving dry-sump LS7 engine; carbon-ceramic brakes; integrated coolers; true aerodynamic downforce, and a significant reduction in curb weight. This car could only come from Chevrolet, and could only be called the Z/28.”

And it yet both posted faster track times than their respective Ford counterparts. Seems weight might have an advantage afterall.

Both?
Does that include the 2010 Shelby?
hmmmmm....
lmao

Fact of the matter is, that when driven in capable hands, the 2013 Shelby also beats the ZzzzzzLnone on any track, in addition to anywhere on any street in America.

One trick pony my ass.
This outgoing Mustang is a thoroughbred, plain and simple.

I think Chris Harris put it best.

The Camaro is for people who want their cake and want to eat it too. A muscle car you can drive to the track and tgen track it.

The Mustang is more fun on the basis that its less livable.

Weight is always the enemy, but for 60k you get a fully capable chassis with a world beating suspension. Its no exotic or hyper car.

I think the point though is that despite its weight handicap, its engineered so well it performs far above where it rightfully should.

It also maintains a certain touring car feel on the street.
