Saw the New BMW 6-series Gran Coupe
And got to sit in it too! This is one of those rare instances where the 4-door version looks better than the 2-door coupe. The coupe/convertible are very beautiful indeed, but the Gran Coupe looks even more sleek. It's sheer length is captivating.

Sitting inside, there is a good amount of rear legroom, about the same as a 5-series. I am 5'10" and had a good amount of headroom as well. It didn't feel cramped at all. The 4+1 seating configuration is a bit odd however, as one can sit in the center seat but must spread their legs out in order to fit. This was manageable for me, but I know on a longer drive I would become miserable. However, that's not nearly as large of a deal as the headroom in the center seat. Like I said before, the other 2 seats in the rear have adequate headroom, but the roof lowers above the center seat (for aesthetic purposes?) so I essentially could not fit there.

I didn't get a chance to drive it but boy does it look amazing on the road, especially in ///M Sport guise. Just like the Panamera and CLS, don't think you can fit more than 4 people in it. The 5th seat may work for children that's it.

:2thumbsup:

This new 6 Gran Coupe is downright sexy and make the Panamera and CLS look like absolute dog shit. The only "uber-sedan" that matches this car for sexiness is the Jag XJ.

Where did you see it BP? At your local dealer? We have a BMW dealer in our network so I may have to pay them a visit.

I'd throw in the Maserati Quattroporte, Burg but yeah, this Bimmer looks really, really good.

I'll be the first to admit that there are some things the F-Series does better than the Silverado. And by that I mean "donate it's back axle to the company's sporty car."

Forgot about the Quattroporte - and it definitely belongs in the sexy sedan class. But I have two problems with it:

1) QP's do not age well at all. If they are dirven like a normal car they rapidly take on a tired appearance. I can't explain it but its a phenomenon I've noticed more than once;

2) I see a lot of "Jersey Shore Guidos" driving them and it makes me like them a little less. It's definitely a bling car. Still... I guess the QP is like a hotheaded Italian woman. You love her, she loves you with total passion and when it's good, it's molto bene but she also drives you completely nuts and can piss you off faster and worse than anyone you've ever known.

Yes they were at my local dealership. I was at the same dealership just 2 weeks ago and they were not there, meaning they are just in.
I still like the CLS and Panamera a lot. With Turbo wheels I find the Porsche irresistable.

Too many good choice in this segment, it's hard to pick one I like best.

I think its true of Italians in general. My grandpa Frank was a fresh-off-the-boat Ellis Island immigrant and I learned at a young age not to engage him in a passionate argument unless I was beyond arm's-length from him. Like all Italians, he talked loudly with his hands.
