Above all, the new BMW X1 conveys even more strikingly the powerful stance that distinguishes BMW’s Sports Activity Vehicles. In the case of the X1, the look reflects the unique combination of the elevated seating position and flexible utility of an SAV with the driving dynamics of a BMW sports sedan.

In addition to the inserts in the front and rear fascia and the special side skirt covers, the circular foglamps positioned under the headlights add to the hallmark features of a BMW X model. Beyond this, the new BMW X1 boasts attractive touches of sporting luxury.

When viewed from the front, the powerful stance of the new BMW X1 on the road is immediately evident. The path of the car’s lines, which converge along the sides of the BMW kidney grille, follows the V-shaped contours of the hood, forging downwards and outwards in the lower section of the bumper to create the sweeping “X” familiar from the X1’s larger siblings. The striking lines go hand in hand with a detailed execution of the body’s surface styling, signaling a sporty character. The foglamps are now level with an extra crease line that forms a discreet scoop along the upper edge of the lights and continues into the fenders. Newly designed headlights afford a detailed view of the car’s advanced light technology. In the upper area, a chrome accent strip now cuts across the top of the twin round headlights, while an LED accent light – included as part of the optional xenon light package – ensures the classic BMW focused look. The available xenon headlights also feature LED light rings for the daytime running lights.

The character line that rises steadily to the rear of the car, an additional line extending the contours of the side glass graphic as it runs rearwards, and powerfully flared wheel arches allow the BMW X1 to project a very distinctive profile. The pronounced side skirts are a signature feature of BMW X models, while the directional indicators are now integrated into the exterior mirrors. Read more.

Stupid how one can't get cinnamon interior with matte wood finish with Style 323 wheels. Also, what is "dark copper" trim? Sounds interesting.

Finished product of what mine would be. Actually expected it to be a lot more expensive. Cadillac might want to keep the SRX as an X1 competitor and build an X3 fighter.

I thought the SRX is the size of an X3.
But true to the American way, it comes at bargain pricing.

idk

Or have something slot underneath. Either way, the X1 isn't too far off the X3; I actually prefer it as I wouldn't even need that much space. I appreciate small CUV's like this and the Evoque.

I was trolling with that last statement, but it does bear truth.
I'm glad you aren't one of those fools going "Ooh give me a [mommy] wagon instead."

EDIT: sorry Zeep just saw what you said lol.

RE: Build your own 2013 X1 xDrive35i
I have reason for what I said. coffee For the past year and a half that I've been driving I basically only drove SUVs, opposite of what most Americans think I hate the high driving position, it just always makes me annoyed that I am high up on the road and I feel less in control. I hate driving them in general, it's annoying to stop, navigate tight streets, turn and worst of all, park because even though I can see far ahead, I can't see very close which makes parallel parking such a chore in my Pilot. I'm just not an SUV person. Now obviously I'll drive it because it's a car to use (I could care less if it was a Prius) but I usually try to take my dad's Sentra if he's not using it. So if I had the choice between a VW Jetta Sportwagon and a Tiguan, I'd take the Jetta.

RE: Build your own 2013 X1 xDrive35i
Zeep, you've been driving a Pilot (wanna be SUV) and a Tracker (wanna be CUV).....those are actually two of the worst vehicles to drive. Besides the reliability factor, I really have no idea how the Pilot is so popular; it makes a Traverse seem small. My first experience with a real CUV was my sisters RX330 and, put quite bluntly, it was leaps and bounds above other CUV's and SUV's I've driven because it understands its purpose (essentially a raised wagon). That's how most CUV's are; I actually prefer it to a wagon because of aerodynamics. Drive a wagon and CUV back to back on the highway and you'll know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.

Besides, the X1 isn't even really a CUV. Whatever you'd call the Juke and Mini Countryman, this is what this is. Or pretty much, in relation to the 3-Series to 1-Series, this little CU....whatever, will be one helluva car to drive, being that it's so small, yet uses the same powertrains that make the X3 so damn quick. The M Sport only makes the deal sweeter. Lord knows I want a chance at this car.

RE: Build your own 2013 X1 xDrive35i
You're definitely talking about the current Pilot, that is a bad car. I have the old one when it was actually a raised Accord and it drove exactly like an Accord. The current one isn't popular as the Lambada triplets, Kia Sorrento and other midsize CUVs that are much better than the current Pilot because yes it's just too big and competitors are much better.
I'll keep it simple on the Tracker, it was never designed to be a crossover, IT'S A REAL TRUCK.
Now on that aerodynamic thing, SHOW ME FACTS. Your Volvo (is it a V70?) has a drag coefficient of .32 while my Pilot has a DC of .36. Why? Most crossovers have a higher center of gravity, wouldn't that yield a higher drag coefficient? Wagons are cars with a cargo area instead of a trunk, same with hatchbacks, and usually you get better fuel economy than the crossover equivalent. The only wagon I've driven was a 1994 Toyota Corolla and it felt like a car. Infact, I felt more in control than my Pilot despite the fact it doesn't have ABS or traction and the tires were bald when I drove it, why you ask? I wasn't driving a tall car with a high driving position.
I'll make my point again, I'm not an SUV/CUV person (although I would buy a Juke).
