Got the top down for a bit today, but it's really hot out so it's back up now (plus there is the proverbial 'chance of thunderstorms). It's pretty easy to operate, two latches on the right and left side of the wind shield release the top and you just push the button located in the overhead console:

The owners manual suggests leaving the car running so that it doesn't drain the battery, so presumably the motors draw a lot of juice opening and closing it. Closing it back up is a bit tricky, you have to lower and turn the latches a certain way - took me a couple of tries to get it right, but then, if there's a way to screw things like that up, I'll find it.

It actually has a good amount of trunk space:

Looks good with the top down.

Also, I finally figured out where the reverse lights are.
They're in the middle. The center lights switch from red to white.

Cool! They really have done a good job of adding unique features like that for this car. I can understand why there's so many Mustang faithful out there.:yeeees:

We just noticed there's no engine cover on this one. The sport model had the Mustang emblem on the engine cover but this one doesn't seem to have one at all.idk

Well, the thunderstorms proved to be an accurate forecast (we were up over 90F today) so I'm glad I left the top up. It went from sunny and smoldering to pouring rain in a very short time...

I will never understand too that without air cooled seats why you would want to have leather for a convertible?

Doesn't make a damn bit of sense especially when you raved about the cloth Recaros, Mike.

But even so, the 'vert does look good with the top down!

For sure, but I'm totally a 'function over form' type of guy, so the sport one suits me better.

It was kind of funny on Sunday, I was driving along in my white with black stripe Mustang, when what pulls alongside but a black with white stripe Mustang. The universe was in grave danger of imploding for a moment there...

Discovered another very cool feature of the upgraded stereo/nav/climate control screen. If you have the nav up, it has real time traffic info including accidents on major roads (it shows up as a little yellow caution sign with an upside down car) Construction areas are also highlighted, and of course, being Canada, we have two seasons, 'hockey' and 'construction.'

All this detail is easily seen at a glance. Very impressive!

I always wonder, with a navigation system that works as well as this does and has the features it had, why do we really need MFT? There has never been a major complaint about it and it just plain ol' works as designed. brickwall

It's kind of amusing how the critics go after these material and I can kind of see it, but a few weeks ago I sat in an '08 Lexus, with lots of 'soft touch' materials, some of which were already ripped and/or cracking. I'll go for durability any day but yes the Stang is a bit behind in this regard.

O.K. CF sleuths, this has become a real mystery. There's still half a cookie to be had for anyone that can find the individual gear ratios for the 3.31 setup on the sport package.
