He said the next-generation 200 and 300 also will be sleeker. "We'll have no choice but to be some of the most wind-swept vehicles that you've ever seen," Gilles said. Speaking to reporters after his speech, Gilles said his design team spends between 200-300 hours in the wind tunnel (combined, as a team) analyzing a vehicle's aerodynamics during a vehicle's design process. I have to admit, I like Chrysler's bold face style a lot though. It'll be tough seeing it go, especially how nice the current 300 looks, it was a nice evolution of the design but I feel that swoopy sleeker cars are just blending in with each other and don't stand out as much. I understand that swoopy and sleeker cars will yield lower Cd, therefore increasing MPG but I just really like the big boxy style. Very American.

Very American. +1, that's my one complaint with Ford is how they've lost the bold edge they had with their styling and how swoopy everything is. However, going the aero route is within Chrysler's heritage, the 1934 Airflow started that whole trend. ![]() |
