It doesn't produce nearly as much power or especially crucial torque for getting off the line as the BMW. Audis typically have a torque split of 40/60.

Like I said, AWD.

The ICE produces power and the driveline merely apportions it to the wheels.

The amount of torque that a tire can impart to a road surface is limited to the tire contact patch size, coefficient of tire friction and the force on the tire normal to the road surface.

IOW, RWD is limited to two tires driving at there torque limit with any excess going up in smoke. Drag racers end up using humongous rear slicks and facilitate weight transfer (more normal force on the rear tires) by using very soft shocks at the front. This step will seriously detriment any handling.

So what can one do to get a combination of great handling and great stop light get up and go?

Divide the torque amongst four wheels via AWD.

exactly... AWD. So are you agreeing wtih REV or disagreeing wtih him...? idk

RR is proof that Ford has potential. Smart, articulate, level-headed. Good stuff!

I'll be the first to admit that there are some things the F-Series does better than the Silverado. And by that I mean "donate it's back axle to the company's sporty car."

wtf And you are about to embark on a somewhat massive overhaul on your truck. I'm wondering if that's a good idea now.

Torque also comes in quick around 1,400-5,300 rpm according to this link

In the link, it states that the engine uses twin turbos in combination with direct injection. This combination, when tuned correctly, can give one an engine with diesel-like torque and gasoline power. Diesels, although a great form of producing power, require heavy reciprocating components to enable compression ignition. Heavy components are limited to how high they can rev.

I am not really in to European marques, but if I was, I would go with BMW. Not that Audi is bad.

Hey RR, for some reason I thought your comment about ice was brown prides comment.
