The car is rumored to feature a mid-engine-mounted, 3.5-liter V-6 hybrid setup mated to a CVT lifted from the new Lexus RX, but tuned for higher performance. The engine would drive the rear wheels, while in-wheel electric motors would power the fronts. GRMN's expertise would be utilized to help develop the car. Reviews |

I can no longer complain about the hybrid setup, as almost every 4-cylinder and V6 sports car is going that route. It will most likely be a Scion in this market.

Not even close to being a worthy successor to the supra, first off being mid engined will most likely mean it will be more expensive than its competition of other high po coupes, but for the love of all that is holy a CVT trnny in a sports car
 , why in the hell would they use a CVT over say a dual clutch or even a 7 or 8 speed auto, and what about a freaking manual. Toyota you fail! Also does anyone know if thats the same 3.5l V6 they use in the camry.
