Barrier Audi in Bellevue claims to have a 2003 530i with a stickshift
![]() The ad claims only 17K miles (which I seriously doubt) and no price is given, but they are close enough to you that you should personally check the car out. Note - AutoTrader.com shows only seven 530i's with stickshift and less than 75K miles - for the entire country. Prices range from $9900 to $16,995.

No pics but it's on their website http://www.barrieraudi.com/bellevue-used...W~Model_/2 17K miles seems too good to be true, and even if it is then that car would be out of my budget

Second, when I will need a new car, my parents will be spittin' Toyotas, Hondas, and Nissans into my face. Maybe I should consider an Infiniti G25 ![]() Third, this video scares me Plus I've read on some forums that people are dishing out thousands of dollars/month to maintain these E39s. I really, really want an E39 though. My parents would only be in if they got to check every inch of the car in person, so local is my only option.

That's an E46 3 series first of all. Second, you already own a high maintenance bimmer!

RE: Can Somebody Find Me A BMW E39 5-series In Seattle?
Crazy video! Anyway, consider the source - he has a friend wearing a "Fuckhead" t-shirt telling him to buy a Prius
but the dude would rather have a Yaris ![]() In any event, I'll bet the guy is a typical modern-day BMW poseur douche who only bought the car for its badge and never maintained it properly. I notice that he never once displays any proof to back up his rant... But he could also have a lemon. It's possible. My mom had a Mercedes SL500 lemon, so it happens. By the way, Toyota makes enough lemons to open a stadium-sized lemonade concession. Bimmers can be expensive to maintain - I'm sure you know this - but they aren't that much more expensive than any other car and besides, if you know how to drive one properly any added expense is worth it. I put over 150K on my 535i and they were hard miles, racing through the canyons by my house - plus many long-distance roadtrips and never, not once, did I spend "thousands" per month on the car (unless that includes new tires and brakes, which I went through with serious regularity). And his Bimmer is from the Bangle / iCrash era. Fuck that modern crap! E39's are the last pure BMW's, especially if you stay with the straight 6. You also get rack-and-pinion steering rather than that Servotronic recirculating ball bullshit that the V8's have. See what happens when you get me started on modern Bimmers? Ultimate Driving Machine? HA! BMW abandoned their core philosophy so I abandoned them. I may have to take a drive up to Paterson to check out that 530. Not that I can afford it right now but I haven't tortured myself for a while...

Dude, do you belong to the BMWCCA? If not join. That is if you are serious about BMWs.
Your local chaper will have lots of cars for sale that have been enthusiast owned and fanatically maintained. You also have your pickings of the national club and their offerings. In addition you get to participate in club activities like track days and driving tours. Do this. “Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted; the indifference of those who should have known better; the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most; that has made it possible for evil to triumph.” |
