RE: First ZL1 1/4 Mile Numbers.......What a Shame
So what? Road & Track admitted that their initial results were off because of the weather.
I'll be the first to admit that there are some things the F-Series does better than the Silverado. And by that I mean "donate it's back axle to the company's sporty car." |

The Voice of Doom;196593 Wrote:So what? Road & Track admitted that their initial results were off because of the weather. LOL.......did you even read the link. This is the Hennessey car and the temp was 79 degrees. Nice try tho This POS is slower than the current GT500.......no wonder they are trying to market is so hard as a "road course" car

RE: First ZL1 1/4 Mile Numbers.......What a Shame
Seeing as they have been testing the ZL1 on road courses, and developing the aerodynamics for road courses, I too wonder why they try so hard to market it as a road course car.

RE: First ZL1 1/4 Mile Numbers.......What a Shame
Hell lingenfelter dynoed TWO ZL1'S and got a baseline of 511 hp
Im sure their baseline track times will be far better. Hell even MT got a ZL1 down the 1/4 in under 12 secs
“The build sheet is the wish list of any racer: lightweight high-revving dry-sump LS7 engine; carbon-ceramic brakes; integrated coolers; true aerodynamic downforce, and a significant reduction in curb weight. This car could only come from Chevrolet, and could only be called the Z/28.” |

Quote:Im sure their baseline track times will be far better. Hell even MT got a ZL1 down the 1/4 in under 12 secsI remember reading this but couldn't remember who... This is the one test that C&D did with the ZL1 Quote:Get everything right, and the ZL1 hits 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and passes 1320 feet in 12.3 seconds at 119 mph—or better, as the cold and dusty track at Inde was less than ideal for acceleration runsBold would explain the reason for the times... I've seen a few CTSV running 11.90s and with a tune considerbly better than that which it has less hp (stock) and weights about 200 lbs more. This car will run 11's with no sweat. |

RE: First ZL1 1/4 Mile Numbers.......What a Shame
The 11' and 12' GT500s are gonna murder this car not even including how bad the 13' is gonna beat up on this car.
No wonder GM didn't bring a GT500 to Inde.
