An idea for the website
What do you think about having an 'ask an owner' area. We could list the cars we own, have owned, have tested etc and those interested in info could view post questions in that section. I think this would be very helpful for people researching a car and would also be beneficial to the website in attracting more views and possible users.

I got the idea while patiently waiting for someone who owned a Volt to post on MT so I could ask them a few questions I had.

Your thoughts?

RE: An idea for the website
I think I already made a thread on this. It could have been just for fuel economy and type of driving. I like the idea, kind of like our own True Delta but will people actually be honest in what they post?

I would be honest but I suspect most import owners would not.coffee

Always have to take the information with a grain of salt and look to the source. An ask the owner section would have to be organized by brand and car model. We certainly won't cover everything, but we should be able to accumulate some good reviews based on our collective experience. I like the idea.

RE: An idea for the website
I'm kind of against having too many sections to the forum. I don't really look at all the sections and some good threads might get lost in some section of the forum that I rarely look at. Also, it's sometimes hard to know which section of the forum a thread ought to go in when I'm creating a topic. That's just me, anyway...

If someone could find a way to integrate it into the existing sections, then I'm all for it!

I guess you'd need to 'pin it' some how so things wouldn't get buried, and yes, you'd have to have the caveat that some 'owner bias' may creep in but the intent of the thread should be made clear that the contributors should be BRUTALLY HONEST about their experiences.

I like your idea Mike and I would like to see a section for vintage car fans.
As far as honesty, I think most people here can sniff out B.S. and that should help, but I think deep down most here are honest.

Yeah, that could work. Like G8Mike says, it could just be a pinned topic in one of the existing sections.
