Ford has set the base price of the redesigned 2013 Escape crossover at $23,295, including shipping, which is $200 less than the outgoing model.

A fully loaded 2013 Escape Titanium model will sticker for $31,195, including $825 shipping. The Titanium trim level is new for 2013. The previous top trip level was the Limited.

Dealers have begun taking orders for the redesigned Escape, gets to dealerships this spring. Early production began this week at Ford’s Louisville, Ky., assembly plant.

Major upgrade from previous, which typically included some cash on the hood of late. And it costs less to start.

Love the interior

The interior needs some refinement, theres too much going on. Not good.
I like the exterior tho.

Matter of taste, but this segment is more youth oriented, and begs a bit of drama.

Besides, that is the uber loaded model.
Things get less dramatic toward base.

I sat in a loaded model at the NYIAS, the interior is just way too busy. I had enough rear seat room though and it was comfortable front and back. The interior works better on the Focus than it does the Escape.

I sat in a couple of models at the Chicago Show and as a current Escape owner I really liked the new interior. I didn't think it was too busy and everything was in a nice position in terms of reach.

What I'm still waiting for in the fuel economy numbers!

Its funny, I actually like the out going one quite a bit. Its not to say that I don't like the new one, but the layout is weird. If I had one, I'd only use voice commands anyway via Sync and MFT. Thats one of the major things about Ford that I love, the tech is fairly straightforward minus the slight learning curve, and I'm a fan of Ecoboost.

My only issue with Sync is that it doesn't understand "home" when I'm using the phone voice commands.

Which is strange because it understands "home" when I'm using the directions.

I just use "cancel" and start over again.
