During my spring break a couple weeks ago was my first experience learning to drive a stick. My bud has a raggedy old E39 but he was kind enough to give me a couple brief lessons. However having almost no access to a vehicle with a manual transmission I'll probably forget a bit next time I get the chance to drive a vehicle with one.
Does is make me feel like more of a car enthusiast? Slightly.
I've always considered myself a car enthusiast. Driving a stick in my opinion does not make or break one from being an enthusiast. What is unacceptable IMO is to call oneself an enthusiast yet have no desire to learn how to drive a car with a stick. I have always wanted to learn and finally got the opportunity a couple weeks back, which was nice.

If some of you (or one of you) want to keep bashing me go right ahead. I know it'll go straight from "you don't know how to drive a stick" to "I'm better at driving a stick than you." Oh well.

I don't think learning to drive stick will appreciably improve your reputation as an enthusiast considering your history.

The V6/I6 fiasco and subsequent "I don't care about brand history/engines/knowing the basic stats of the car I'm driving" attitude, reports that you said that mechanic work is poor-bitch work, and a general air of automotive image obsession will still haunt you.

Haunt me? Like I give a shit. roll eyes
You take life on the internet too seriously if you say something as menial as my knowledge or utter care for engines 2+ years ago is going to "haunt me" laugh. Why are you even searching for old posts of mind. Kind of creepy if you ask me. Get a life bro!

"haunt you" as in color peoples perception of you.

btw, I remembered that I6 post and found it with a 2 second google search.

Don't get me wrong, I totally have a creepy obsession with you. Your new furniture looks great from the yard.
