HD Silverado Spots F-Series 3hp, 35lbs-ft of Torque, Beats it Anyhow
C/D did a comparo of 3/4 ton diesels. Despite being the old man of the group, the Silverado won top honors, although the Ram won the comfort/style categories. Eye-popping stat: the Chevy hits 60 in 7.1 seconds as well. Hoo-wah!

I'll be the first to admit that there are some things the F-Series does better than the Silverado. And by that I mean "donate it's back axle to the company's sporty car."

Link?

“The build sheet is the wish list of any racer: lightweight high-revving dry-sump LS7 engine; carbon-ceramic brakes; integrated coolers; true aerodynamic downforce, and a significant reduction in curb weight. This car could only come from Chevrolet, and could only be called the Z/28.”

Oh good, next time I need a slight advantage at the drag strip, I will remember the one single advantage that the much lighter hd offers.

Read the article, Wings. The Ford's brakes were terrifyingly bad as well.

Great article and if I was in the market for a truck like this it would be a hard decision. I am a Dodge fan so I would more than likely go with the Ram but the Chevy and Ford would work nicely for this Dodge guy too.
Congrats to GM for the win.

If I've said it once I've said it a 100 times... When it comes to power for towing the Duramax/Alison is top dog - period! It will pounce the Cummins and the PowerChoke everytime coffee

Who gives a rats ass what's on paper?idk 3HP, 5HP, 30 lbs/ft etc?

Put them side/side empty, side/side loaded with 22,000 lbs and the Duramax/Alison will pounce all other 3/4 ton trucks... Not talking about by a slight margin either... It will walk away from the rest :2thumbsup:

Which proves that reflash Ford did on the engine didn't do squat for it except give it bragging rights of having 400hp and 800lb/ft.

The Chevy's the best WORK truck out there, no doubt about it. I'll be the first to admit that the interior's now dated, but in addition to being a good slugger it's crazy quick for such a big beast. A diesel truck that hits 60 in 7.1? Wow smoker
