I've sat in the new 3-series multiple times now and everything about it is high in quality. Every surface is wrapped in leather, wood, aluminum, and soft-touch materials. Read any review from owners who bought this fine luxury car with their own money and they'll say the same.

Ive sat in the 3-Series too. The dash is plastic. The leather might not be cheap but it doesn't ooze luxury. The wood trim is disgusting and the it looks spartan and CHEAP.

Deal with it. And I drove a 335i sport, with its poopoo steering and shit tires.

RE: Some NYIAS Coverage
Wanna know why there was no Ford?? I have a brother, who stormed off away from Ford because he didn't see a Mustang. If it weren't for the fact that we were in Time Square (who wants to lose someone in Times Square??), I would've gone ahead and made passionate, aggressive love to the sexual beasty ass Fusion. Just sayin.

The ATS steering wheel feels perfect for a track. Didn't feel the least bit cheap. The 3-Series wheel felt like the one on my old 93 Cavalier.....

Ha Ha BULLSHIT. Why would any dealership in their right mind give the keys of a new BMW to a high-school aged kid such as yourself? The 3-series has been universally well-received. The wood trim is finished the same way it is on a 5-series and 7-series, so your point is NULL.
Admit it, the 3-series is the BEST vehicle in its segment and move on with your sad life.

Because I know what people like to hear.

I walk into dealerships usually in my bulls hoodie, with my scraggly beard from not shaving for a few days, and wearing an old pair of air ones. I go like that whether I'm going into a Kia or Cadillac dealer, and most of the time, I am treated well because the salespeople generally like me. Its luck of the draw most of the time, I sometimes get a salesperson who knows the product as well as I do, like my experience at Lexus, or I get someone like a former history teacher at the Cadillac dealer (history was always my best course).

BMW has always been bad though. They take a long ass time to do everything and they are generally assholes, all of them. Its a saltine palace (racially speaking). Luckily just over a month ago I got past all of that and was able to drive a 335i Sport. I tried to be nice to the guy, but he was a total dick and expected me to drive a block around the dealer. FUCK THAT! I drove where I wanted to drive. I got a feel for the car, the car felt heavy and the steering light and lifeless.

The wood trim, or should I say plasti-wood, since it is a very thinly sliced piece of wood mounted on a cheap hunk of plastic then covered in a thick lacquer that makes it look even cheaper. Then there was BMW's idea to use old untreated floorboards as the inspiration for the other wood trim they have. I feel like sanding that shit down whenever I see it. Its disgusting.

I'll never admit the 3-Series is top of the segment because it isn't. And bitch, I have a happier life than you.

RE: Some NYIAS Coverage
Actually BP, my brother's only 18 and he got the key's to a BMW 650i, no bullshit.

As for the 3-Series, I haven't seen a single review praise the 3-Series interior. Not even in comparison's. Usually, the praise goes to how well it performs. I'll give the 3 that, it uses every single horse and its platform can easily handle 100 more horses, but that interior isn't good at all. Maybe you haven't sat in one, in which you should before you praise it for just being a BMW, making you a hypocrite as you always bash GM lovers for loving a GM because its a GM and vice versa for Toyota.

If the ATS can't perform as well as the 3-Series, it will, for damn sure, win in the interior department. Even down to the quality of the seats, the ATS has it. BMW lost it.

RE: Some NYIAS Coverage
If we're keeping it real 100% honest here, none of the German cars besides the ones coming from VW/Audi/Porsche have impressive interiors nor is the quality that impressive for the prices they charge. The 3 Series interior is lacking. And that's the honest truth. Nothing about it screams "luxury" or "buy me". Step up to a 5, 6 or 7 and things get better. Below that, nope. Same with Mercedes. The top offerings are good, the lower stuff not so much. Everything at the Audi camp is nice though. The Infiniti interiors look better than the BMW ones do. My moms G37 has a better interior than the 3 Series and it's an older design too. From the pics I've seen, new Caddy interiors look nice and people are saying they are also. Even new Lincoln stuff feels and looks nice. No tea, no shade but the Odyssey I was in at the auto show interior was better too. It at least looked nice and was high quality.

RE: Some NYIAS Coverage
The motoring press praises the 3-series because of how well it did in the past, much like they give a pass to Toyota. Their empire will come crashing down sometime soon when the ATS comes out and they see how a real compact luxury car should be.

RE: Some NYIAS Coverage
Not to mention, Ghosn said the new G is coming soon and will be a much better vehicle than the one its replacing. If Lexus can do right by the IS, BMW's in trouble.
