AS decent as the Malibu is, it isn't really close here (objectively or otherwise). The new Fusion is spectacular.

By the way, Wings, you forgot to include the poll.

Me being an American... prefer the more American muscular look of the Malibu.

Tough choice for me. I haven't seen the new fusion in person yet, but I did see an black Malibu on the road and it looks good.

I think it would be LTZ Malibu for me in black.

I seriously don't think I could make a choice.
Both look spectacular. I think I'll have to see each in person for my choice.

If you are a GM or Ford fan then the choice is easy, but for others not so easy. Sorry wings but I won't vote because I need to see the cars in person, however, from photos I like the more agressive styling of the Fusion, but that doesn't mean it is a better car. idk

I'm inclined to reserve judgment until seeing both in person, but based on the photos I like the English looking Fusion's long lean lines.

Ive only been in the malibu. I like its proportions better. The fusion is sexy but it definitely looks uber FWD with that little window by the mirrors. I hate that trend.

“The build sheet is the wish list of any racer: lightweight high-revving dry-sump LS7 engine; carbon-ceramic brakes; integrated coolers; true aerodynamic downforce, and a significant reduction in curb weight. This car could only come from Chevrolet, and could only be called the Z/28.”

RE: More appropriate, all new Fusion vs Malibu
The things I don't like about the Fusion at least picture wise is the radical front end makes the front overhang look huge, and while I like C pillar windows, the window line is exactly like an Impala, which has had that design for 15 some odd years. The design as a whole looks like Ford is trying too hard.

What I don't like about the Malibu is the tail lights look gigantic in the pics, and the side profile between the hood and trunk is so bland. It's not an exciting car from that angle at least. The design just looks like they didn't try hard enough. I mean, look at that white one up top. It's so bland.

However, I still think both cars look good, and want to see each in person.
