Maserati Levante . This second word, "Sun", may instead be used for the new premium sedan segment E, affectionately dubbed "Maseratina", born on a revised version of the platform of the Maserati Quattroporte and designed to bring competition to the BMW M5, Audi S6/RS6 and Mercedes E-Class AMG.

This is supposed to take on the E-Class and 5-Series. Since there has been a lot of talk about Maserati sharing RWD architecture with Chrysler, does this mean we'll see a smaller Chrysler or Dodge RWD sedan in the next few years?

The Charger and 300 are big cars. They're nearly 200 inches long (199.9" for Charger, 198.6" for 300) and they sit on a 120.2 inch long wheelbase. For comparison, the E-Class that Maserati is targeting is only 191.7 inches long (192.2" for AMG) and sits on a 113.1 inch long wheelbase. Just looking purely at the numbers, there's clearly room beneath the big 300 and Charger for an E-Class sized RWD sedan.

Does the Challenger use a shortened version or something??? I don't know. Maybe it will be based on the same platform as the next Challenger?

You have to wonder if this would be the basis for a midsize Chrysler to slot under the 300. It would make sense from a platform streamlining stand point.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 300 gets downsized and put on this platform. It will lose size but weight as well. I can only imagine how much better its fuel economy will get. I don't see the 200 going to a RWD platform. Apart from wanting to see another RWD car (the enthusiast in me) I don't see the need for another RWD platform unless its a sports car. For Chrysler, that is.

As far as the chassis for Maserati, if it has any similarities to the Quattroporte, it will be one utterly stunning car inside and out. However, I feel as if its going to be very pricey compared to the Germans and won't be a huge seller but will help Maserati with an entry car into the brand. They can also lower their CAFE scores by offering a diesel or hybrid or any combination of the two.

This is apparently a spy shot of an upcoming Maserati interior according to the semi-retarded wizards at Edmunds.

That looks more like a Dodge. Automakers will cover vehicles undergoing preliminary testing with the sheetmetal of other cars, it's not too uncommon to do that with the interior as well.
