The Fisker Karma is the world’s first premium electric plug-in hybrid and ushers in a new paradigm for environmentally conscious cars and thoughtful owners who care for the environment and have a passion for performance, style and luxury.

Designed by Henrik Fisker, the Karma is assembled in Finland and will be sold in North America through a network of premium brand retailers and globally through luxury importers. The four passenger sedan has a top speed in excess of 125 mph and will accelerate from 0-to-60 in 5.9 seconds. In real world driving – the Karma can achieve the equivalent of 100 MPG.

I've read a lot of articles about Fisker Karma and it has indeed a deceiving looks. For some, the car is a thumbs down but still a lot likes it. Fisker Automotive has seen its share of setbacks in its short existence. The startup hybrid car maker was backed by federal and state loans. Now the organization's Newport, Delaware manufacturing plant is, in the words of one former worker, "absolutely empty." Another round of layoffs sent several engineers and technicians home a week ago. Fisker is very far from throwing in the towel, however. If you think Fisker Karma isn't that good for a car there are a lot of cars to choose from by getting a bad credit car loan.

The great thing about high-end electric cars is that, in percentage terms, they don't really carry that much of a premium over their petrol counterparts. What I mean is that for people who can afford these kind of cars to begin with, the $10k or so difference between the price of the Karma and an equivalent BMW 7 Series is not that much of an issue when you're spending $100k on a car.

If we then look at the cheaper end of the market, how many people are gonna be looking at a Nissan Sentra and wondering whether they can stretch their budget for a Leaf, which by-the-way costs close to DOUBLE as much as the Sentra?

This car looks so much better in person. There is no usable back seat though. Trust me, my friend tried to get in it.

Not surprising really, Rev. If it weren't for the tell-tale rear door-handle, you could easily mistake this for a two door GT. No different from an Aston Martin or Maserati GranTurismo, really.

Speaking of door handles, is it just me that thinks they look cheap and ghastly? Especially when the rest of the car looks so perfect from any angle. The Lotus Evora has a similar problem. Maybe it's just me being picky about door handles. Interestingly though (for door handle fanatics like me), the cheaper Fisker, which I have forgotten the name of, has more upscale looking door handles. At least at the front. The rear has Alfa-style hidden ones...
