RE: How to repair a Powerstroke
But Fords are the most popular heavy duty truck and are therefore the best and most reliable! This "headgasket" bullshit is all lies created by GM shills! Those photos are fake! My cousin's uncle's brother's neighbor had one of these and it never had this problem, so it's all a conspiracy theory to make Ford look bad because they didn't take a bailout!
But in all seriousness, Ford should have stayed with the 7.3. Pretty neat method, I've seen it done on some other makes as well. I'm sure it's much easier. __________________________________________________

RE: How to repair a Powerstroke
Why the Fuck are people pulling cabs on a 6.0....Really no need and you'll lose your ass if you're on a flat rate plan. 6.4's yes you have to pull the cab, but NOT on a 6.0.
And if you know some on that has either of these engines and has a headgasket go bad there is an easy fix to the problem. I will cost a little more up front but save you in the long run. REPLACE THE HEAD BOLTS WITH STUDS...several companies now offer studs as replacement to Navistars bolts and we are having much greater success with those, esp. if you're chipping either the 6.0 or 6.4. I think the reason these little bitches are pulling cabs on the 6.0 is because they don't want to brake their knuckles while torquing the heads...get over it. Save yourself time, and get the customer out the door quicker! As for the question about 6.7 Reliability....I honestly have yet to see any head gasket issue. Have done two motors, but both were on Narrow Frame (That would mean chassis cabs with single stage turbo) Both had over rev codes and were extremely over weighted. Killed all the exhaust valves. Have seen some EGR issues, all were under warranty, but had extreme idle hours that would have pushed them out of warranty. If they come in with this case, we almost force a High Idle Kit so the Engine can enter regen. while at idle and prevent this from happening again. Then there is the TSB for NOx sensors, but that is really it. |

I am back...Just don't have a lot of time to get on anymore. Too busy fixing vehicles, because the guys in the oil fields really don't care about maintaining a damn thing. Infact is you read this, "Scout" you should either send me that pic I send you back or post it on this thread, because I deleted it. Had to put my first Long Block 5.7 Hemi in a couple weeks ago. Dodge Store is backed up to far so they brought it to our Ford shop and I was the luck SOB that got to put it in...NO I AM NOT RIPPING DODGE HERE SO LEAVE THE COMMENTS...Just the Oil Riggers would rather push and oil change 40k miles then bring it is....So doesn't matter make or model...A lot of Ford, GM, and Dodge vehicles are getting new engines out here. My only complaint with working on the Dodge...WHY THE F is every electric connector locking....STUPID...esp once they get soked in mud...promise a lot of them are going to break. |
