I'm sure the performance will be fine, but they totally ripped apart the M legacy and what it stood for. The naming is ruined, and has been ever since they had the Z4 S.Drive (insert more words here).

This is not another variant of the ///M5. BMW has confirmed they have no current plans to produce a diesel ///M car or AWD ///M5.
This car is mean to slot between a 550i and ///M5. Engine, performance, chassis, and even steering. Matter of fact the electric steering of the normal 5-series has been ditched in favor of a hydraulic setup derived from the ///M5.

This would be a dream to drive. Pair that with 0-60 in 4.7 and 44 mpg...just wow.
