RE: Ford Focus Titanium to get manual transmission
Nothing wrong with spending $4000 to fix a $6000 car? Insurance companies would disagree. If you're doing a full restoration or building a car for a purpose, that's one thing but for 99.999% of the population it's in the "waste of money" category and they'll just get a new car.

RE: Ford Focus Titanium to get manual transmission
They're still going to pay for the fix. Nobody is saying that this transmission is going to fail at 150,000 miles. You are assuming its going to just crap out.

RE: Ford Focus Titanium to get manual transmission
Not that it's going to fail but even the Ford dealer it will need "major service" at that time. "Major" to me means more than a fluid change.

RE: Ford Focus Titanium to get manual transmission
Are you really going to buy this car? Do you care when the owners who buy it don't? Any car with high mileage is expected to have some major work done right? Isn't it part of ownership? Deal with it.

With proper preventative maintenance like fluid changes, every car ought to make it at least to 200k. And before you bring it up, a clutch replacement on a manual will be way cheaper than a clutch replacement on a DCT.

Hey tonavi,
You expressed your concern about something you have absolutely no cause to be concerned with and absolutely no facts to back it up either. We get it. 8 pages later, believe me, we get it….you are only trolling. Now please, with sugar on top…STFU. ======= Call it the Lincoln Apology Momentum and Employee Appreciation Sale Spectacular. What do all domestic fans have in common? When they nothing to combat a point with, they call it trolling. A very distinct phenomenon. I wasn't even saying the Fiesta was a bad car (I like it actually) but that the Powershift tranny was not a great choice for it.

Or do you think you somehow have the upper hand in an argument, by tasking those who disbelieve with your unfounded assertions, with the task of proving you are wrong. You sir, it is you who has the burden of proof in this argument, for making unfounded accusations and ZERO facts to back them up. Not us. And call us when Toyota makes a better car than the Focus, regardless of which transmission option you choose. ======= Call it the Lincoln Apology Momentum and Employee Appreciation Sale Spectacular. This car could only come from Chevrolet, and could only be called the Z/28.” |
