And I'll give Toyota credit for a handbrake rather than a pedal emergency brake. I prefer handbrakes and it's a rare feature in big vehicles. The Escalade Platinum has a sharp interior. The thing I absolutely HATE about the GM full size trucks is no console shifter. I find column shifters cheap looking and awkward. ![]() |

I do like the Land Cruisers, I'd take one over its Lexus brethren, but I would take an Escalade over this. I'd take an Expedition Limited over this. Its nothing against the Toyota, as its one of the real few new Toyotas that I do like. If not the only Toyota that I do like.

The thing about Toyota is, I do like a few cars they offer. But they have that stigma about them that if I buy one, it's because I know nothing about cars.
Besides, many other better options out there. ![]() |

Yea, thats got a bit to do with it. There are some nicer options out there and they're quite a bit more exciting. The Camry is one very capable car, it just does nothing to stir my soul. I can't buy a car that doesn't get me excited.

RE: Legendary Toyota Land Cruiser Receives Significant Enhancements for 2013
Its very nice but I like the Land Cruisers of the 80s and early 90s a lot more. This one just seems far more focused on being a luxury SUV than being what made it famous, an off road SUV. If I want off-road prowess in a new SUV, I'd just motor on over to my nearby Jeep or Toyota dealer for a Wrangler or an FJ. They are far cheaper and far more capable.
For a $60k SUV, I would take an Cadillac Escalade or a Mercedes-Benz GL over it without much hesitation. "He takes the 'F' out of night shift." |
