Cars that can run over 200K miles - Forbes Mag
I'm happy to see the D3 represented on here by Ford/Lincoln.
They are actually 3 out of maybe 4 or 5 on the list I would consider for purchase. The Miata (if I could fit in the darn thing!) and the Subie are the others. Link: http://autos.yahoo.com/news/cars-that-ca...miles.html ![]() They call me Ford-O Baggins. Must have the PRECIOUS!!!!! |

Can't just about any car go over 200K if properly maintained?

I'm at 215K without a breakdown and with no rebuilds.

RotaryKing aka Rev;157348 Wrote:Can't just about any car go over 200K if properly maintained? The list is cars that can hit 200K with retarded owners. Most of the list is Toyota, so I'll just call this list bullshit anyway. BUT! I will agree with them on the Fusion. My sister has a 2007 SE V6 with 70K miles and it still runs without a hitch. They're keeping that car till it dies, and that bitch ain't dieing anytime soon.

I'm glad so many Fords are on there.
But our Suburban has 245k, and the motor has never been replaced or rebuilt. It also seems like another weatherman article. They are predicting the future. ![]() |

It seems a bit random to me, some with nearly new, unproven drivetrains. It sure isn't based on history, because if it was the Camry and Accord would be on there. The Fusion wouldn't be based on midsized Fords of the past... __________________________________________________

Any car/truck should go 200k miles if properly maintained and not abused.
Again, my '95 Grand Caravan has 222K miles on a never touched 3.8V6/4 speed automatic...the one known for trouble (wrongly if the correct fluid is used). This group appears to be sponsored by Toyota...mostly... and just as silly as a Toyota. |

as well as most cars are engineered today one that has all proper maintance done should easily hit 200k, normally the idiots that's complain about bad reliability are the ones who don't care for there cars and just expect it to be perfect without having to do anything to it.
My civic is at 90k and still runs like when she was new, and I've taken very good care of her, I change the oil at 4-5K when the manual says it could be done every 10K, she's also very clean cosmetically. I take pride in that. Ill drive her till she dies. This country can’t be knocked out with one punch. We get right back up again and when we do the world is going to hear the roar of our engines. Yeah, it’s halftime America. And, our second half is about to begin.

Haha as much as id like to sell it for another 5k down payment when I buy a challenger, ill keep it so I don't have to drive the challenger in the snow and salt. That blows me away that the average car in the U.S. is over 10 years old now. While I don't think the market will hit its peak again for a very long time, that stat speaks to a significant 'pent up' demand unwinding sooner or later.

RE: Cars that can run over 200K miles - Forbes Mag
I had a '97 Dodge Dakota that had a 210K miles when I traded it in. The only problems it had was it needed a water pump and a MAP sensor. Hitting 200K isn't that hard.
