RE: The 2011 Chrysler 200 is compared directly to the Chevy Malibu and the Ford Fusion
All of the new Dodge/Chrysler vehicles have lower centers of gravity. Hence, they are all lower and yes the 200 is lower but the S doesn't make it any lower. And yes the 200 has 283 HP, 9 more than the Sonata turbo. But then the Sonata gets better FE and still gets good performance. The Regal GS shouldn't even be mentioned because we all know that's a true performance model and the 200S can't compete with it. We all know that. IMO, it's not a performance model. But to each his own.

Smooth, in Chrysler's press release of the 200, they announced that the 200S would incorporate the more performance tuned Dodge Avenger suspension tuning.

Eh, I'd take any of the other products over the 200. Chrysler is still trying to find itself I think. I like where Dodge and Jeep are going, Chryslers cash cows right now are the Caravan and 300. The 200 is a refresh and really needs a new body style and not have much in common with the Sebring. Until that is done it will still be a bit underwhelming. I really hope they come out with an actual redesign that is completely different from the Sebring that they have currently.

+1. That side profile kills the car for me. So does the 200 badge on the side pillars. *sips tea* |

Can't believe he would say the cars ride high isn't lowered when its bright as day that the S's 18inch wheels is well snug inside the cars wheel wells, of which is not on the lower models!! ![]() |

Ok and.... the 2010 looked just like the 2006, 7, 8, 9 models so it really took 5 years for the sonata to get where its at? It took chrysler 1 year to rework the 200, 300, Durango, JGC,patriot, compass, charger, challenger, new hemi, new V6, wrangler interior, avenger and the mini vans at the same time work with the ownership! ![]() |

RE: The 2011 Chrysler 200 is compared directly to the Chevy Malibu and the Ford Fusio
It's a shame though how from 2008 to 2010 Chrysler put out that shit they called the Sebring and though for some strange reason that piece of shit was "competitive" and then had then nerve to make a Dodge version of equal un-impressiveness. At least the Sonata got better over time. The Sebring regressed. It got worse. Just calling the new Sebring the 200 is already an improvement all by itself. Seriously, all of the improvements they made on these new vehicles should've been out. This 200 should've been the Sebring from the get go. Will it sell well? Maybe, but it looks to much like a Sebring from the side and that's not a good thing.

You make no sense. So are you telling me the 2010 200(Sebring), 300, Durango, etc didn't look like the 2009, 2008 and 2007. LMAO. Think about what you are saying.

I agree though, Hyundai did flip their image quick. Chrysler is doing the same. Problem is, both put out crap for the last decade and should have fixed it a few years ago. __________________________________________________

RE: The 2011 Chrysler 200 is compared directly to the Chevy Malibu and the Ford Fusion
I like the look of the new 200, it's a HUGE step forward from it's predecessor which was the case in '08 with the new Malibu and the Fusion in '09.
Although I'm not a fan of base anything I think the Malibu probably looks worse in the lower trim levels but love the look of the LTZ. I had an '08, which I sold it and now have an '09 which I don't regret buying either for one moment. The car rides, drives, handles very well not to mention it's also very quiet inside. On several trips to Florida and to Charleston SC I've gotten 31 mpg and it's run 14.50 @ 97 mph at ZMAX Dragway numerous times. I will probably be buying a new car sometime next spring/summer and kind of torn....I really want to look at the Regal GS but in some sense want a Volt. I know the two cars are complete opposites but we'll see how it plays out after a test drive of each. By that time we will be seeing what the '12 Malibu will have to offer. |
