This is one of at least two ongoing efforts to revive Fisker, which fired the bulk of its workforce to preserve cash and hired bankruptcy advisers earlier this year.

2013 Lexus GS 350 F Sport


As the weather gets warmer and the slush melts off the road, drivers begin to bring out their babied vehicles from their garages and onto the roadways. Thankfully, during this time I was invited to test out a car I would likely have babied myself had it been mine; the Lexus GS 350 F Sport.

As I was walking in to grab the keys to the Lexus GS 350 (at this time I didn’t know it was an F Sport), I was pretty emotionless as I was quite unsure what to expect. However once the words F Sport were spoken from the mouth of the attendee, my eyes widened and my lips curled into a mischievous smile now knowing I had an enjoyable week ahead of me.

The knight in shining white armor certainly caught the attention of many enthusiasts that week, as its dynamic sport and luxury design was eye catching to say the least. The signature spindle Lexus grille and aerodynamic skirt flares provided a assertive sport demeanor to the otherwise rounded luxury sedan. As the exclusive automotive sponsor, the Dodge brand “Defiance” partnership includes vehicle integrations in the TV show (Dodge Charger) and online video game (Dodge Challenger) as well as custom co-branded advertising and promotions crossing multiple media platforms, including television, digital, social media, mobile, gaming and on-demand. “Defiance” allows Dodge a prime opportunity to speak to its socially engaged customers.

The co-branded TV commercial, titled ‘Dodge Charger | Defiance,’ debuts May 20, in conjunction with the first appearance of the Dodge Charger as the hero vehicle driven by main character Nolan (Grant Bowler), the city of Defiance lawkeeper. The 30-second spot shows the endurance of the Charger as it survives obstacles in a changing world, ending with a transformed planet Earth in the year 2046 where “only the defiant survive.”

Dodge is also adding a social gaming component to the “Defiance” partnership with a “Dodge Defiance Arkfall Sweepstakes.” Fans of Dodge and Defiance can compete against each other and share unique stories to their friend’s Facebook News Feeds while vying for the grand prize of a trip for two to the world’s largest pop culture event taking place in California this summer. The five-star rating is the U.S. Government’s highest-possible safety rating and is determined only after severe testing procedures as part of NHTSA’s New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), which combines vehicle performance in frontal and side-impact crash tests and resistance to rollover.

The Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid joins the Ford Fusion and the Ford Fusion Hybrid which already received five-star safety ratings. NHTSA has elected to test plug-in vehicles separately from vehicles powered by gasoline internal combustion engines as the market share of electrified vehicles is increasing. April marked Ford’s best hybrid sales month ever with Ford’s EV market share hitting an all-time high of 18 percent, up from 3 percent last April.

Hennessey Performance (HPE) has announced that it is offering its VelociRaptor SUV conversion. Based on the Ford F-150 Raptor, the team from HPE transforms SVT’s super crew cab pick-up truck into a full-sized sport-utility vehicle (SUV) with seating for up to 8 people.

“Over the past three years we have built nearly 400 upgraded Raptor trucks for enthusiasts around the world”, said Don Goldman, CEO of Hennessey Performance. “We are now very excited to be able to offer the VelociRaptor SUV to those who like the Raptor but want more seats and space.”

All of the factory Ford Raptor truck components and systems are kept in tact. At this time, Hennessey Performance has not yet had an opportunity to test the off-road capabilities of the VelociRaptor SUV. Thus, the company suggests that buyers should intend using this vehicle for on-road as well as light to moderate off-road duties. “Don’t plan on pre-running Baja or negotiating Rubicon with our SUV – that is not why we built it”, said company founder, John Hennessey. But, if you’re looking for the ultimate vehicle to drive from Aspen to Telluride in January, the VelociRaptor SUV would be perfect.”

The VelociRaptor SUV base price is $149,500 and production is going to be limited to just 30 units per year. The same 6.2L 411 bhp Ford V8 powers the entry level SUV while Hennessey also offers their VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged upgrade at an additional cost. Other optional upgrades include: Brembo front brake upgrade, larger wheels and tires, LED lighting upgrades, bespoke interior and electronic upgrades. Security and armoring systems are also available.

While vehicle weight is increased by approximately 600 lbs, the standard 411 bhp SUV is able to achieve 0-60 mph times of 7.5 seconds. Bumping power to 600 bhp with the VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged upgrade will drop the 0-60 mph time to 5.9 seconds. AMG G-Wagon and Range Rover owners beware.

The Hennessey VelociRaptor SUV can be ordered directly from Hennessey Performance or through select Hennessey / Ford dealers.

Hennessey Performance (HPE) has announced that it is offering its VelociRaptor SUV conversion. Based on the Ford F-150 Raptor, the team from HPE transforms SVT’s super crew cab pick-up truck into a full-sized sport-utility vehicle (SUV) with seating for up to 8 people.

“Over the past three years we have built nearly 400 upgraded Raptor trucks for enthusiasts around the world”, said Don Goldman, CEO of Hennessey Performance. “We are now very excited to be able to offer the VelociRaptor SUV to those who like the Raptor but want more seats and space.”

All of the factory Ford Raptor truck components and systems are kept in tact. At this time, Hennessey Performance has not yet had an opportunity to test the off-road capabilities of the VelociRaptor SUV. Thus, the company suggests that buyers should intend using this vehicle for on-road as well as light to moderate off-road duties. “Don’t plan on pre-running Baja or negotiating Rubicon with our SUV – that is not why we built it”, said company founder, John Hennessey. But, if you’re looking for the ultimate vehicle to drive from Aspen to Telluride in January, the VelociRaptor SUV would be perfect.”

The VelociRaptor SUV base price is $149,500 and production is going to be limited to just 30 units per year. The same 6.2L 411 bhp Ford V8 powers the entry level SUV while Hennessey also offers their VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged upgrade at an additional cost. Other optional upgrades include: Brembo front brake upgrade, larger wheels and tires, LED lighting upgrades, bespoke interior and electronic upgrades. Security and armoring systems are also available.

While vehicle weight is increased by approximately 600 lbs, the standard 411 bhp SUV is able to achieve 0-60 mph times of 7.5 seconds. Bumping power to 600 bhp with the VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged upgrade will drop the 0-60 mph time to 5.9 seconds. AMG G-Wagon and Range Rover owners beware.

The Hennessey VelociRaptor SUV can be ordered directly from Hennessey Performance or through select Hennessey / Ford dealers.

BMW UK today revealed its network of dealers that will supply and support BMW i, the company’s revolutionary new sub-brand featuring electric drive systems and premium mobility services.

From launch, 46 sales agents across the UK will offer the BMW i range. Each will have specialist technical capabilities allowing them to carry out repairs to the vehicles’ high voltage batteries. A wider service network is planned to offer extended coverage for the general service, maintenance and repair of BMW i vehicles.

Initially, two BMW i cars have been confirmed for production, the fully-electric BMW i3 megacity vehicle and the plug-in hybrid BMW i8 sports car.

The BMW i3 is BMW’s first fully-electric production car and is due to go on sale in the UK in late 2013. Like the i8, the BMW i3 features an all-aluminium chassis combined with a passenger cell made entirely from lightweight carbon fibre reinforced plastic.

BMW Group UK Managing Director, Tim Abbott said customer enquiries about BMW i are already “extremely high” with more than 6000 people registering their interest in the i brand.

“With the announcement of our BMW i retail network we are open for business and taking deposits on the i3 and i8,” he said.

“Our BMW i dealerships are located in the areas of the UK with the highest concentrations of population.”

Potential customers can now register their interest with one of the BMW i agents or online at http://www.bmw-i.co.uk.

As well as the vehicles themselves, BMW i will encompass a range of premium services for mobility aimed at optimising the use of parking spaces, recharging infrastructure, ‘smart’ navigation systems, intermodal route planning and access to other BMW vehicles on an ‘on-demand’ basis.

BMW is the first premium vehicle manufacturer to offer such a comprehensive ownership package surrounding electric mobility.

“With BMW i, we are offering game-changing technology that will revolutionise the way we move through a completely new driving and ownership experience,” said Abbott.

The BMW Concept i3 is currently on display in the world’s first BMW i showroom on Park Lane, London. In May, the car will feature at the Wentworth BMW PGA Championship and is then due to appear at the Canary Wharf Motorexpo in June.
