"Based on the same platform" has nothing to do with looks, performance, specs, etc. The biggest problem with Lincoln was they're too much of what Ford already is. Similar persona's, except the Ford costs less and looks better. Obviously, no one really cares what platform the car uses as Audi's doing fine.
