The gears, more capable a car is to run at optimum rpms and such at almost any desirable speed. That's why I've been a support of CVT, because its tech that essentially allows for infinite gears. While many complain about them, I feel CVTs are still young tech that if pursued and developed, the potential is there to go completely do away with gears and gearboxes completely. In theory anyway. |
