BMW is renaming the coupe and convertible versions of the 1-series as the 2-series for the vehicle's second generation. The hatchback retains the 1-series designation.

The M235i coupe, not yet confirmed officially, is set for a debut at the 2014 Detroit auto show. It is the sister model to the M135i hatchback that will go on sale across Europe in September.

I bet those who bought the 1M are going to be pissed as there resale values will plummet. Also its a newer M so it will be about as sporty as a V6 mustang.

I'd like to hear about when the new 2-series will be released first. If the front fascia is better than the 1er I would certainly like to jump on a 235i.

Journalists really like the M135i quite a bit. If you can get over the ///M badges it really seems to be an original BMW. MT loved it in its review released TODAY
