Quote:Apparently Ford may be looking into making an all-electric Mustang. Impossible you say? Maybe not. Consider this:

1) All-electric vehicles are making a come back in a big way. There are currently at least ten automakers investing heavily in the technology, not least of which is Ford with the preparation of the launch of the all-electric Focus to bow very soon.

RE: Electric Ford Mustang Under Development
I wouldn't buy it. However, I could see it having a following. I look at green cars today and they're either nerdy little eco weenie cars (Prius, Volt, Insight), vanilla mainstream sedans (Fusion Hybrid, Camry Hybrid) or way out of the normal price range (Karma, Tesla). If you want a cool electric car, this could be the ticket.

Uh...so they would put the motor directly over the rear wheels then and use the engine comparment for battery storage then? Might work.

Oh please Ford don't do it. All we need is another electric car that can be driven 20 miles from home and then pray to God that it will make the 20 mile return trip before running out of juice.

RE: Ford working on electric Mustang?
Why not.
I like the idea. Not everything has to be economizer.
Obviously though it would be slightly biased for sport, because EVERYONE knows the stang is a sportscarbeer

If nothing else, I like the idea of a performance biased stang hybrid. You know, not unlike other performance hybrids. So you can have your speed ticket and eat it too.coffee

I would also love to see the pony cars get diesels. Imagine the shoot out that would be.

What's next.. some kind of light up pony when you unlock the doors?

“The build sheet is the wish list of any racer: lightweight high-revving dry-sump LS7 engine; carbon-ceramic brakes; integrated coolers; true aerodynamic downforce, and a significant reduction in curb weight. This car could only come from Chevrolet, and could only be called the Z/28.”

I get the feeling its going to be a bit over priced if its pure electric. You'd save on the gas counterpart.

RE: Ford working on electric Mustang?
Now eco-pussies and other liberal hypocrites can drive a "sports car" (as they would put it) and "Feel like they're doing good by mother nature and protecting the enviorment" lmao

No doubt you'll see the shmuck list of typical liberals line up for one of these, even if going WOT or red light racing drains half the juice :tounge:

So yeah, build it Ford, so I can laugh at the tools who buy it
