2013 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ

In North America, the Malibu comes in LS, LT and LTZ trim levels, along with the Malibu Eco, which uses fuel-saving eAssist ™ technology to enable EPA-estimated fuel economy of 25 city / 37 highway, for the best fuel economy of any non-hybrid midsize sedan.

For customers who enjoy style and performance, Chevrolet will offer its first-ever Turbo on a Malibu with an all-new Ecotec 2.0L turbo engine rated at 259 horsepower (193 kW) and 260 lb.-ft. of torque (353 Nm) between 1,700 and 5,200 rpm. It is the most powerful midsize sedan from a domestic automaker, and more powerful than Malibu’s previous V-6 engines. It will be available later this fall on LT and LTZ models.

The new Mazda6 is the second of Mazda’s new generation of products which incorporate both the full range of SKYACTIV technologies and the new KODO-SOUL OF MOTION design language. It will also be the first model equipped with Mazda’s regenerative braking system, i-ELOOP. The introduction of i-ELOOP marks stage 2 of Mazda’s Building Block Strategy for environmental technology development. The strategy calls for thorough improvements in base automotive technologies before the step-by-step introduction of electric devices to further improve fuel economy and reduce carbon emissions.

The new Mazda6 draws on the best of Mazda’s technical expertise and craftsmanship across all domains, from dynamic performance and design, through to environmental performance and safety. It stands as the flagship model for a new generation of Mazda products. It features a sense of dignity, style, luxury feel and comfort expected from a vehicle in the CD segment whilst offering the pleasure of responsive and agile driving, which is at the core of the Mazda brand.

The model to be exhibited at the Moscow Motor Show is a Russian specification sedan equipped with a direct-injection SKYACTIV-G 2.0 gasoline engine and six-speed SKYACTIV–DRIVE automatic transmission.

The Mazda does look better in those teasers, so for now I'll go with the 6... but I haven't seen either of them in person.

That and I don't like the Malibu's taillights.
Malibu LTZ.
I thought the Malibu looked swell. Then I saw its new competition. Dead.
I shall see Tuesday doc
Its not even close, Mazda 6 all the way
Mazda, it makes even the Fusion look bland.
No question. Hiroshima wins this one.
I never trust teaser shots to tell what the car looks like as a whole... In these they show you the very best angles - nothing more. So when I see the 'whole' 6 then I will give my opinion. I will say this - from what I've seen so far the 6 is worlds better than the one that's sold now which is just plain ackward looking.

The current 6 would look great as a coupe, IMO.

Take a look at the concept, not much has changed except for a few touch ups for production. You can tell from the teasers, everything, including the greenhouse is exactly the same. But still, even if they did change a few things, the Malibu would still come last.
The current 6 is swoopy looking but is not as refined as the matching generation Malibu. The Malibu had better NVH and a more refined interior over the Mazda.

Based on exterior styling, I like what I've seen of the new 6. It has a lot of the styling features of the attractive CX-5 small CUV.

But that's not the whole battle. Have to wait and see the final total products. Mazda desperately needs a sales hit for which it can charge a premium that covers the Japanese exchange rate.

I should have added this in my initial comment - I don't put all my faith in concepts as well since I've seen so many of these but when the finished product makes it way to the dealer floor it's more toned down. And the Malibu would still come last to who? You? Looks are subjective and although you might think a car looks better it don't mean that it will to the next person.
