"I love cars. That doesn't mean that I'm a good driver, that I could talk to you about the state of the automotive industry or that I could do anything to help you fix literally anything in any sort of meaningful fashion -- but I love the damn things, nonetheless. This love actually extends beyond cars, to motorcycles, trucks, airplanes, and basically any other marvel of engineering that, in a fair and just world, my incompetent fingers would never be allowed to touch. But as a dude that digs whirly things that go places, I find that most people either share that exact same love with me, or else cannot understand the appeal in the slightest. So on behalf of all of us fans of controlled explosions with wheels on them, I figured I'd give a go at explaining this baffling affection, and maybe shed some light on what makes the box that occasionally takes you to the store something more special to us."

That was a great write up.
I enjoyed reading that. What I love most about automobiles is that they provide anybody a sense of curiosity and enjoyment. In this haphazard world we reside it, cars are one of the few things that can bond people together, no matter what their race, religion, age, or sexual orientation is.

This past weekend I was at a weekly car show they hold about 20 minutes from my home. Every Saturday morning it showcases the collection of exotics and luxury vehicles that people in this region own. There are Bimmers, Benzes, Audis, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Astons, classic Jags, Maseratis, etc. On an average week about 200 cars come by for the show. On specialty weeks (such as this past saturday) they will have many vehicles from one select manufacturer. This past week it was Ferrari. There were hundreds of Ferraris present and a total of 300 cars. Hundreds of people came by to see the show and it was truly something special! Cars strike curiosity and enjoyment.

"Two out of five douche bags will describe their hobbies to disinterested women as "a Zen thing, you know?" They will go on to clarify that "It's like I'm really at peace when I'm windsurfing/quilting/strangling hobos on the F train. So like, do you do butt stuff or what?"

This guy's an awesome writer.
As usual great article from cracked.
For me, I love cars for what they are. I always love every single drive that I take, even if it's the half mile to my friends house that I had to drive since it was raining out. I'm even that kind of person that would take the scenic route even if it adds another 20 miles to my trip and when I pull into my driveway, I feel sad since well, the drive is over...
Now if I had a car that actually suits me would be great since every car I've driven isn't a car I'd own, but I still have had great drives with those cars (even that shitty driver's ed car).
