RWD vehicles continue to be the strongest for Chrysler. The brass really should take note of this when designing their next midsize. A good RWD chassis with the 3.6L and 8spd would be a homerun, it would probably double the sales of the FWD 200.

Focus sales are finally reaching the level that they need to be!
Looks like the spiffs are helping. I always thought the pricing was a little too high.

With Volts now allowed to use HOV lanes in CA, look for sales to skyrocket!

Wings,
I realize that you never talk to anyone outside of the state of Michigan but there are tons of people in California that purchased hybrids so they could get HOV tags. A good friend of my bought a civic hybrid for that reason. Now that she had her tag taken away as it no long qualifies she will most likely get a Volt as her drive time to work just doubled.
Demand can be effected dramatically by rules like these. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if almost all pruis sales pre-2006 in CA were in order to take advantage of this perk.
I was watching Top Gear(the real one) a few weeks ago and Bob Geldof was being interviewed. He said he drove a lexus ct200h so he could avoid the congestion tax in London.

Focus rocked at 115% increase.

Just think....pretty soon, the Volt will soon outnumber the Lexus HS 250h in the HOV lanes of California.

Oh, the wonderful hs250h! The car that was going to put fas on the map in his climb up the toyota ladder and yet he was so blinded and stupid!
I have to believe that fas was fired over the hs250h FAIL!

To add more salt to the wounds...the 2013 Lincoln MKZ hybrid will bury that thing with respect to handling, styling and fuel economy. FAS was fond of belittling Ford and GM engineering.

Cute Jay, but I have family in Ca, and are visiting there again this summer. I am well aware of the larger % of hybrid sales there, most of which is from actual greenies who use their vehicle in a daily grind that would surely benefit from HOV lanes. A car like the Volt, aside from being American and mostly shunned in Ca, is still heavy on the "green image" side of things, who have a much larger disposable income to begin with, and hardly fit the mold one would expect in a "daily traffic grind." So HOV lanes are probably low on their priority list.
But alas, arguing "skyrocketing" is a subjective topic, so I digress.
